In 2010, less than 3% of the children who died were medically certified.1 low and middle income countries, most deaths do not occur in health facilities but rather community, contributing to an extraordinary gap vital statistics.2 This is likely be more pronounced humanitarian settings where are prone elevated mortality, particularly contexts forced displacement.3
